Vibrant streaks of purple, blue and green blur together in a braided, abstract form, creating a sense of movement and fluidity. The colors appear to be in motion, giving the composition a dreamy and ethereal quality of an Impressionist painting.
For some time I have been exploring the concept of using the light and energy passing through the lens of my camera to "paint" an image. I had a vision, but was blind to it until I developed a method to add time and motion to the equation. "Lupines in the Wind" is a product of this quest and technique. It transformed a patch of desert lupines, found on a windy spring afternoon in the Tucson Mountains west of Tucson, Arizona into fantastic, wind driven colorful apparitions, quite impossible to perceive with the human eye.

"Lupines in the Wind" will make an extraordinary and bold statement on any wall, and is created solely by a photographic technique relying on the focused light and energy of a single exposure in the camera to offer a different visual reality... A reality of light through time and motion.
